Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be directly reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. The role will also require significant partnering with other teams. They will handle many day-to-day activities related to various areas of finance operations and compliance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with the Shared Service Centers regarding ongoing accounts payable activities
  • Act as a Corporate Credit Card administrator and monitor delinquency status on a monthly basis, including being responsible for sending bank statements for payment
  • Act as a Regional Concur Purchase Order superuser
  • Assist Tax Manager in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual tax calculation, including Canadian sales tax, US use tax and various state business taxes
  • Perform a monthly check run
  • Supply statutory team with monthly and ad hoc reports from Concur
  • Perform weekly leavers checks
  • Prepare 1099 and T4A reports annually
  • Follow proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
  • Suggest and participate in all improvement and efficiency projects within the department

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounts payable experience in medium to large company
  • College certificate or diploma in Accounting, Business, Economics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and inquisitive mind
  • Must be able and willing to adapt to new assignments and priorities to meet the needs of the business
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Knowledge of Concur and JD Edwards is an asset
