Responsibilities
In this Accounts Payable Specialist role in Downtown Toronto, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approval before processing for payment.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system and code expenses to the appropriate accounts and cost centers.
  • Prepare and process electronic payments, checks, and wire transfers for vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships with vendors through effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Assist with monthend and yearend closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable function.
Qualifications
In this Accounts Payable Specialist role in Downtown Toronto, you will be required to have the following:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience processing full-cycle AP.
  • Must have excellent communication skills for effective vendor communication.
  • Experience working with Oracle is a must.
  • Previous experience working in the finance industry or a similar professional services industry is a strong asset.
