DESCRIPTION:
An exciting opportunity to lead our 24/7 Programs in an organization dedicated to making a difference in the community.
The Manager Plans, organizes, directs, and administers provision of the Winter Shelter and 3 24/7 programs including an Emergency Shelter, a Supportive Housing Building, and an Emergency Response Centre.
They are also responsible for the nightly operations of the programs, staffing, and personnel, and ensuring that the programs delivery is consistent with the policies, procedures, and Mission Statement of Progressive Housing Society.
EMPLOYEE CATAGORY:
Full-Time, Term Position (until April 25, 2024)
SALARY RANGE:
Based on education and experience
HOURS OF WORK:
Thursday to Monday 16:30 - 00:30
NUMBER OF VACANCIES: 1 (one) vacancy
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred; may consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years' experience working with vulnerable adult populations including those affected with mental illness and other complex health conditions and homelessness with preference given to those who have worked directly in a shelter environment.
- Minimum of 3 years front line supervisory experience in similar environment overseeing teams larger than 10 or a demonstrated excellence in leadership combined with extensive experience in combination with education.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and personal vehicle for business related purposes.
- Standard First Aid & CPR.
- Provincial Violence Prevention Training
- Naloxone Training.
- Trauma Informed Care training.
- Successful clearance of a criminal record check.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Welldemonstrated written, oral, and highlevel communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a team approach to program delivery.
- Demonstrated expertise in dealing successfully with persons with complex care needs.
- Strong background and working knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation processes.
- Indepth understanding of administrative functions; budget preparation and financial management.
- Proficient in computer skills, including ability to use MS Office.
- Extensive experience and demonstrated success in time management, problem solving, conflict resolution and consensus building.
- Ability to lead, coach, train and mentor staff and clients to achieve to the best of their abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with tenants, community groups, government agencies and the public.
- Good problemsolving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to take action in a crisis management environment.
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
