The Role


Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, this role will be responsible in supporting all total rewards programs (base and variable pay administration, job evaluation, benchmarking and salary surveys, year-end compensation, benefits administration, etc.).

This role will be responsible for the overall analytics and reporting of various compensation and total rewards metrics.

The Compensation & Benefits Analyst will leverage information, market research and HR systems, to generate meaningful insights to assist the business in making accurate and informed decisions, along with process improvements.


Total Rewards Programs

  • Supporting compensation benchmarking activities (internal equity, external competitiveness)
  • Completion of compensation and benefits surveys (e.g., executive, nonexecutive, compensation planning, benefits and retirement benchmarking).
  • Job evaluation of new and revised roles using company's job evaluation methodology.
  • Assist in preparing job descriptions for evaluations.
  • Auditing of monthly and quarterly variable compensation programs to ensure alignment with plan guidelines. May also support in the creation of variable compensation plans.
  • Support the administration of annual salary and bonus review process.
  • Supporting the design and delivery of current or new compensation programs to align with our pay for performance philosophy.
  • Coordinating and drafting communications related to benefits and wellness programs, including a quarterly wellness newsletter.
  • Assists with the implementation/launch of all compensation, benefits and retirement related education and contributes to the development of materials.
  • Supporting the annual benefits enrolment process.
  • Oversee and support escalation of complex benefit inquiries.
  • Research of total rewards best practices and recommending opportunities to adjust our programs
  • Supporting the team on various total rewards initiatives as required.

Total Rewards Analytics

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual compensation and benefit reports, as required
  • Support HR technology initiatives, including testing, analysis, enhancement and implementation of current platforms (e.g. HRIS), as well as implementation of new ones

Business Unit Initiatives and Assigned Projects

  • Collaborate and support the Total Rewards Leader on projects and strategic HR initiatives as required.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assistance with HR team projects.

What You Bring To The Team

  • 13 years of experience in compensation and benefits
  • Experience with HR technologies (e.g., Ultimate Software is an asset)
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment where you can contribute with your indepth knowledge of compensation and analytics
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, macros, pivot tables, charts) and other MS office software
  • Superior attention to detail with an emphasis on data integrity and data quality
  • Analytical acumen, intellectually curious and creative
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, standards, methods and techniques of compensation and HR business metrics and analytics—including the interpretation of metrics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in the creation of trending overviews, executive summaries and written recommendations, including best practices.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills, effective and comfortable working within vendors to resolve issues
  • Able to provide sound judgment, with an ability to maintain confidentiality and utilize discretion while working with sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities and deliver effectively on ad hoc requests.
  • Compensation or HR certification (CCP/CHRP/CHRL) or in progress an asset
  • University or college degree in Human Resources with business/finance background an asset
