The Globalization Technology team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Internationalization Program Manager to build the foundations of the function and deliver on our internationalization strategy. As an Internationalization Program Manager, you will play a key role in creating key partnerships that will help support EG's global expansion efforts by ensuring our products are i18n compliant from inception and our language experiences culturally and linguistically tailored to diverse markets from the product development stage.
What you will do:
- Map out key stakeholders from Partner & Traveler Products, Engineering, Design and Marketing teams to understand current state & ecosystem and build strategic partnerships to apply a holistic approach to internationalization.
- Perform audits of current internationalization libraries and translation pipelines to establish clear baseline of current state and define ideal state.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Vrbo and Partner Central being a priority) including Product Management, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to integrate internationalization requirements into product roadmaps and development cycles.
- Partner with Engineering teams to make sure we can deliver on any future market expansion efforts by ensuring all i18n components are followed to allow for bi-directional text and multi-plurals such as ICU syntax
- Lead GenAI efforts related to i18n through testing GPT-4 and GitHub co-pilot's ability to automate scanning and fixing of i18n issues.
- Improve our i18n analytics reporting through revamping our current Tableau dashboard and ensure automatic surfacing of data in both Localization and Quality Platform teams dashboards.
- Work with key partners on designing and building a Global Readiness Scorecard to help us understand the readiness level of our products and make sure we always are i18n compliant from a Dev and Design standpoint.
- Lead efforts in testing and integrating Figma connector in XTM to enable agility at the design and dev stages and advocate for pseudo-localization practice and adoption
- Serve as a subject matter expert on internationalization best practices, standards, and tools, and provide guidance and training to internal teams through advocacy programs.
- Build and present internationalization roadmap and present results to stakeholders during business reviews, tech and XD sync ups, etc.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis for internationalization in order to identify opportunities and challenges in target markets and provide insights to allow a better local user experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Business, Linguistics, Computer Science) required; Master's degree preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Proven experience managing internationalization or localization projects in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, preferably within the travel industry.
- Good understanding of internationalization concepts, standards, and best practices, with hands-on experience implementing them in software or digital products.
- Strong program management skills, good business acumen and adaptability, strategic thinking and effective tasks prioritization to deliver results in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages is a plus (Python, VueJS framework, Java, Rails framework, PHP)
- Experience with international SEO, SEM, or digital marketing is desirable.

- Effectuer des vérifications des bibliothèques d'internationalisation et des circuits de traduction actuels pour établir une base de référence claire de l'état actuel et définir l'état idéal.
- Collaborer avec des équipes interfonctionnelles (Vrbo et Partner Central étant une priorité), y compris les équipes responsables de la gestion des produits, de l'ingénierie, de la conception et du marketing pour intégrer les exigences d'internationalisation dans les feuilles de route des produits et les cycles de développement.
- Assurer la liaison avec l'équipe BEX (Brand Expedia) pour veiller à ce que nous puissions réaliser notre expansion aux Émirats arabes unis du point de vue de l'internationalisation, étant donné que BEX ne prend pas actuellement en charge le texte bidirectionnel ou la syntaxe ICU de manière cohérente dans toutes les applications.
- Diriger les efforts d'intelligence artificielle générative liés à l'internationalisation en testant la capacité de GPT-4 et de GitHub co-pilot à automatiser l'analyse et la correction des problèmes d'internationalisation.

- Diriger les efforts de test et d'intégration du connecteur Figma dans XTM pour favoriser l'agilité aux étapes de conception et de développement et promouvoir la pratique et l'adoption de la pseudolocalisation.
- Agir à titre d'expert sur les pratiques exemplaires, les normes et les outils en matière d'internationalisation, et fournir des conseils et de la formation aux équipes internes par le biais de programmes de sensibilisation.
- Produire et présenter une feuille de route d'internationalisation et présenter les résultats aux intervenants lors des évaluations des activités, des synchronisations technologiques et XD, etc.
- Réaliser des études de marché et des analyses concurrentielles pour l'internationalisation afin d'identifier les occasions et les défis dans les marchés cibles et de fournir des renseignements pour permettre d'améliorer l'expérience de l'utilisateur local.
- Baccalauréat dans un domaine pertinent (p. ex., commerce international, linguistique, informatique) requis; maîtrise souhaitée.
- Certification PMP ou certification de gestion de projet équivalente souhaitée.
- Expérience éprouvée en gestion de projets d'internationalisation ou de localisation dans un environnement technologique en constante évolution, de préférence dans le secteur des voyages.
- Bonne compréhension des concepts, des normes et des pratiques exemplaires en matière d'internationalisation, avec une expérience pratique de leur mise en œuvre dans des logiciels ou des produits numériques.
