Who We Are

**SUMMARY**

The **General Repair Technician III **is responsible for handling service calls, as well as monitoring, maintaining and repairing systems, equipment and installations that are not the responsibility of a specific trade. This technician may also be called upon to support the team leader by coordinating certain inspections or work with third-party service providers, whom he or she may accompany as required. All tasks must be carried out in accordance with established practices and processes.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Facility maintenance activities**:
**_Service calls _**
- Respond to assigned service calls and follow up with the property management team.
- Contribute to improving tenant satisfaction by ensuring quality workmanship.

**_Preventive maintenance _**
- Inspect and maintain systems, equipment and facilities that are not the responsibility of a specific trade.
- Coordinate contractor visits and accompany them when a third-party supplier is required.
- Where possible, make recommendations on system maintenance to improve the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.
- When necessary, support the operations team in carrying out other types of preventive maintenance.

**_Corrective maintenance _**
- As required, perform or coordinate with a third-party supplier troubleshooting and repairs to systems, equipment and facilities.
- Support the operations team, as required, in carrying out other types of repairs as needed.

**Administrative activities related to facility maintenance**:

- Receive, implement, track, monitor and report on maintenance and repair work in the work order management system, including progress and resolution notes.
- Record resolution data in the Maintenance Management Services database.
- Support the Team Leader, as required, in receiving inspection reports from third-party suppliers and integrating them into the database.
- As required, administer and monitor service contracts assigned by the Property Manager (inspections, etc.).

**Health and safety activities**:

- Support the team leader in coordinating and receiving work permits for various jobs.
- Report any incidents/accidents observed in accordance with the various procedures in place.
- Participate in various training and awareness-raising activities on occupational health and safety issues.

**EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma and/or vocational training and/or certification or license.
- Good knowledge of facility operation and maintenance processes and practices
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair (as per applicable qualifications) mechanical and other building systems and equipment
- Strong environmental, health and safety mindset.
- Strong customer orientation and sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for relay, exchange, feedback and clarification of data.
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for emergency/standby calls and emergency calls as they arise.
- Must strictly adhere to health and safety policies, including the wearing of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
