Responsibilities
In this Payroll Specialist position located in Waterloo, you will be responsible for the following:
- Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for over 300 employees accurately and on time.
- Verify and reconcile timecards to ensure accuracy of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off.
- Calculate and process adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding and reporting requirements.
- Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management on payroll metrics, trends, and costs.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and earnings statements.
- Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and ensure accurate setup in the payroll system.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including T4 preparation and distribution.
- Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications
In this Payroll Specialist position located in Waterloo, we are looking for:
- PCP or PLP designation preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of Canadian payroll experience is required.
- Experience with ADP products is a great asset.
- Experience working with unionized employees is a great asset.
