You as a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator will:
Be responsible for site specific safety orientations and, job site inspections. Organizing and conducting training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Working At Heights, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid. Coordinating weekly safety audit summaries. Conducting and leading accident investigations when necessary. Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution. Review of subcontractors' pre-construction safety submittals Review and file subcontractors' weekly safety submittals Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly project health and safety statistics Identifying potential hazards and directing rectification measures. Regulating work site activity in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Coordinating Joint Health & Safety Committees and Proactively identifying and preventing hazardous situations and taking necessary measures to rectify. Provide leadership for a best-in-class health and safety program.Is this the right role for you?
You have a minimum of 3-5 years' of safety construction experience, preferably in mission critical environments such as EV battery plants. You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations. You are working towards or are already certified under the Occupational Health and Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on a construction site. You are a holder of or working toward a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate. You have completed a college degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Experience with the COR Certification process would be an advantage.
