You as a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator will:
- Be responsible for site specific safety orientations and job site inspections.
- Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Working At Heights, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid.
- Coordinate weekly safety audit summaries.
- Conduct and lead accident investigations when necessary.
- Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance with safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution.
- Review subcontractors’ pre-construction safety submittals.
- Review and file subcontractors’ weekly safety submittals.
- Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly project health and safety statistics.
- Identify potential hazards and direct rectification measures.
- Regulate work site activity in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committees and proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations, taking necessary measures to rectify.
- Provide leadership for a best-in-class health and safety program.
Is this the right role for you?
You have:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of safety construction experience, preferably in mission-critical environments such as EV battery plants.
- The ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
- Worked towards or are already certified under the Occupational Health and Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on a construction site.
- Completed a college degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- The holder of or working toward a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
- Experience with the COR Certification process would be an advantage.
