Our office in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is looking for an organized, proactive and effective Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety team.

Summary of the Role:

Reporting to the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety (E,H&S) Manager, the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to management and employees while implementing safety excellence program elements, and overseeing E,H&S documentation, and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Construction Site Supervisors, Foreman, and Workers with E, H&S related guidance.
  2. Identify hazards and take action to protect others in the workplace.
  3. Provide various Health and Safety training to employees.
  4. Develop safety training programs and E,H&S procedures, and policies, as needed.
  5. Participate in JHSC Meetings.
  6. Assist in the development of Lessons Learned documentation and toolbox talks.
  7. Assist with incident reports and investigations, as directed.
  8. Ensure compliance with OHSA and other relevant E,H&S related legislation and regulations.
  9. Communicate with and provide advice to E,H&S Manager on safety-related matters.
  10. Ensure responsibilities and accountability are carried out safely following E.S. Fox Limited safety policy/procedures, COR Standards, ISO 45001 standards and OHSA requirements.
  11. Maintain safety Excellence Group requirements, as directed.
  12. Assist with the development of Site-Specific Safety/Environmental Plans (SSSP/SSEP), as required.
  13. Assist with the Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, as required.
  14. Assist with disability management files and return-to-work paperwork.
Key Requirements, Experience and Skills:

Community College diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Technology, or the equivalent Certificate of Recognition (COR) certificates of training. Working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point). Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, and applicable codes or regulations. NCSO, CRSP or CHSC certifications an asset. Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety. Training and experience in health, safety, and/or environmental auditing. Experience with COR requirements and WSIB. Superior organization and time management skills and keen attention to details are essential. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to recognize trends and patterns in reports generated. Strong information-gathering and report writing skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to evaluate case information. Superior ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external clients, at various levels, in both group and one-on-one settings, both verbally and in writing.
