We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in the planning, development, and delivery of cultural heritage programs and initiatives. As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance, and support to a diverse range of stakeholders, including municipalities, ministries and agencies, heritage organizations, Indigenous communities, and the general public.

What can I expect to do in this role?In this role, you will:
• Provide ongoing liaison and advisory services to municipalities, culture heritage organizations and other stakeholders
• Develop partnerships between the Ministry, and other Ontario ministries as well and local, national and provincial cultural organizations to support the sector
• Provide advisory services and expert advice in support and promote the cultural heritage sector
• Lead/coordinate concurrent project and/or work teams comprised of branch/division/ministry colleagues, ministry stakeholders as well as internal and external stakeholders
• Lead the planning and evaluation of a range of programs; conduct the design, development and implementation of customized and standardized education, training and outreach programs on new initiatives
How do I qualify?Technical Expertise:• You have knowledge of relevant cultural heritage conservation theories, principles, practices, technologies, policies, programs and governing legislation (i.e. Ontario Heritage Act, Planning Act) to provide subject matter expertise
• You understand land use and cultural heritage planning
• You can design, develop and implement customized and standardized education, training and outreach programs on new initiatives
Partnership Building and Consultation• You can collaborate, develop partnerships, and manage relationships with a variety of key organizations including internal and external partners
• You have consensus-building and negotiation skills to develop operational agreements and key performance outcomes within the ministry as well as between the ministry and national, provincial, and local cultural organizations
Research and Analytical• You are able to research, analyze and evaluate sectoral trends as well as identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of the sector
• You can review and analyze formal and informal research findings including cross-jurisdictional experience, trends, and reports
• You are able to develop, evaluate and report on performance measures in order to track inputs, outputs and outcomes
• You can review and analyze business case applications and project proposals to assess their viability and compliance with relevant program guidelines, regulations and legislation
Project and Planning• You can lead and coordinate concurrent project and/or work teams
• You can oversee collaborative working groups, facilitate project stages and activities
• You have planning and organization skills to meet deadlines, prioritize and deliver results
Communication and Presentation• You can prepare and present a range of materials for senior decision-makers, stakeholder presentations, briefing notes, contentious issue reports, correspondence and Cabinet submissions
• You are able to effectively provide technical knowledge and advisory services
