You're most proficient in financial oversight, balancing day-to-day management with long-term strategic objectives. Skilled in working in a technology-driven environment, you're adept at using digital tools to enhance productivity and achieve organizational goals. You anticipate problems before they become issues, offering invaluable foresight in a fast-paced setting.

Key Traits

  • Technologically Proficient: Strong capability in managing digital processes, familiar with software like Workable, Quickbooks, and other operational tools.

  • Proactive Problem Solver: Ability to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.

  • Exceptional Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex information.

  • Adaptable: Willing to be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining effectiveness and focus.

About the Role

The Director of Operations is a senior position responsible for overseeing the operational functions of our non-profit. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our services and administration, while supporting our long-term strategic initiatives. You will also oversee the fractional management of external service providers in areas such as legal, financial services, HR, IT, board services, and travel & events. You will be responsible for building internal capacity for these functions with the goal of transitioning to a fully-internal delivery of administrative and financial services within two to three years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Manage and optimize diversified organizational functions including HR, Finance, Events, IT, Legal, and Board Administration.

  • Stakeholder and Partners Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners, including government bodies, community groups, and funders.

  • Resource Allocation and Budget Control: Oversee budgeting and the allocation of resources, focusing especially on financial management and oversight.

  • Risk Management: Implement and maintain adequate policies and procedures to protect the organization from legal and operational risks.

  • Service Provider Management: Administer and oversee fractional managed service providers to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in senior management roles with similar organizations, demonstrating deep experience in administering HR, Finance, Events, IT, Legal, and Board Administration teams.

  • At least 10 years of relevant career experience in an operations capacity, with a strong focus on financial management.

  • High degree of technological proficiency is essential, given the fully digital nature of our operational processes.

If you possess the necessary experience and skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
