Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in expanding our presence in the environmental and demolition industry. The ideal candidate will be based out of Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable growth for Morgan Construction and Environmental.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients in the environmental and demolition sector.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve growth objectives in the environmental and demolition market.
  • Work closely with the executive team to align business development goals with overall company objectives.
  • Identify and engage potential clients, building strong relationships with key decision-makers in the industry.
  • Collaborate with existing clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Identify and negotiate partnerships with industry stakeholders to enhance service offerings and market presence.
  • Evaluate potential collaboration opportunities to drive innovation and sustainability.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals, bids, and presentations for potential projects.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring that terms align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent Morgan at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Actively engage with industry associations and organizations to build a strong professional network.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Explore and propose innovative solutions to enhance the company's environmental and demolition services.
  • Ensure that the company's brand message emphasizes its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible demolition practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business development within the environmental and demolition industry
  • Good understanding of construction and the key sectors (i.e. Heavy civil, environment and demolition, civil remediation, and Oil Gas) is considered an asset.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in business development, civil remediation, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or technologist diploma in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license, with a clean 3-year abstract.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
