Financial Controller (Confidential – GTA West) Position: Financial Controller Location: Greater Toronto Area – Mississauga West Region Industry: Industrial Services / Equipment (Confidential) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Compensation: Competitive base salary ($120,000+) plus performance incentives and benefits About the Opportunity A well-established, privately held company in the industrial services and equipment sector is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee its accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys improving systems, processes, and financial visibility. The company has operated successfully for several decades, with consistent growth and a strong reputation for quality and reliability. As the business continues to evolve, this role will help strengthen financial governance, reporting accuracy, and strategic decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Oversee full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports. Lead budgeting and forecasting activities; provide variance analysis and recommendations. Manage working capital and cash flow to support operations and growth. Controls & Compliance Maintain sound accounting policies and internal controls. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and support external audits. Monitor financial risks and recommend improvements where needed. Operational & Strategic Support Partner with management and operations teams to support profitability and efficiency. Provide financial analysis for planning, investments, and process improvements. Assist in system enhancements and data-driven reporting. Leadership & Development Supervise accounting and administrative personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Qualifications CPA (CA, CGA, CMA, or equivalent) designation required. 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including several years in a leadership role. Strong background in full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and internal controls. Experience in industrial, service, or manufacturing environments is an asset. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are an asset.
