The Social Planning Council of Ottawa takes a holistic approach to community development by integrating research, planning, and community building. Through research, we identify the needs and resources of Ottawa residents, and partner with community agencies, residents, and city institutions to plan for fitting solutions. Our activities include community and social planning, supporting community agencies, and mobilizing community resources to respond to pressing social needs.
Role Description
This is a volunteer hybrid role as an Executive Administrative Assistant at the Social Planning Council of Ottawa. The Executive Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative assistance, phone etiquette, communication, and other clerical skills. The role is located in Ottawa, ON, with flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
- Experience in administrative assistance and executive administrative assistance
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills including phone etiquette.
- Strong clerical skills, including organization and record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Understanding and confidence using emerging artificial intelligence tools
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to schedule day-to-day agendas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in the social sector or community development is a plus
- Eager to take the initiative and proceed with the tasks without waiting for prompts.
- Experience in community development and social planning
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and priorities
