Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to spearhead financial excellence within our team, focusing on optimizing property management and budgeting processes. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial insights crucial for informed decision-making, robust budget management, and the production of insightful financial reports. Your leadership will drive operational enhancements, cultivate a supportive work culture, and empower the development of our accounting team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily operations of the property accounting team, ensuring seamless functioning across all managed properties.
  • Manage the timely completion of annual tasks such as property budgets, cash flow forecasts, operating cost adjustments, property tax obligations, and audits.
  • Ensure the accurate execution of monthly activities, including month-end procedures, cash flow monitoring, and reporting.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of monthly and annual accounting processes to ensure adherence to deadlines, GAAP standards, and client protocols.
  • Act as a mediator and decision-maker when conflicts arise, fostering effective communication between property personnel, management, and clients.
  • Strategize and coordinate annual and monthly activities, including budgeting, audits, tax filings, and reporting timelines.
  • Balance staff workloads to meet client demands while upholding fairness and operational efficiency.
  • Provide tailored training and development opportunities for team members to ensure proficiency in systems, procedures, and job roles.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff, offering guidance, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering skill enhancement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the accounting team, refining policies, and streamlining procedures.
  • Collaborate on overall accounting team management, including strategic planning, performance monitoring, and addressing managerial concerns.
  • Foster a positive team environment, recognizing achievements, and motivating staff members.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, implementing effective resolutions.
  • Contribute insights on staffing requirements and participate in special projects as required.
  • Oversee the setup of new properties, perform in-depth analyses, and address any outstanding matters.
  • Facilitate property sales and turnover procedures, managing financial reconciliations and closure tasks.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of property-specific processes and data.
  • Provide feedback for process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • CPA qualification or equivalent experience in commercial/retail property accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial/retail property accounting, with demonstrated team leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and relationship-building acumen.
  • Exceptional organizational prowess and multitasking capabilities.
  • Proficient decision-making aptitude.
  • A clear criminal record check is mandatory for employment consideration.
