Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) is looking for a self-motivated & energetic individual to join our industry-leading organization which works towards the delivery of high-quality services and programs to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts. Created by the provincial government, the DSB is responsible for overseeing and managing a range of services divested to the municipal order of government, including Ontario Works, Community Housing, Paramedic Services (Land Ambulance), and Early Learning and Child Care Services.
Our DSB is looking for your help to ensure the efficient delivery of services to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts. With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km. We are currently looking for two (2) driven individuals to join our team as an Administrative Assistant. In this position, you will provide administrative support to designated programs and services of the Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB. The administrative services are provided in accordance with all applicable Municipal, Provincial, and Federal legislation, and the Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB policies.
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative functions and support services in relation to the following acts: Ontario Works Act, Child Care and Early Years Act, and the Housing Services Act.
2 to 3-year diploma in Business Administration or Administrative Assistant from a recognized college.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in secretarial and office services preferably in a public administration organization working with a senior executive preferably in the administration of public services.

Ability to understand and interpret provincial statutes, regulations, and policies pertaining to program delivery services.
Ability to work with computer programs relevant to writing reports & correspondence, analyzing data, managing projects, and communicating electronically.
Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
Valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license with access to an appropriately insured vehicle as required for employment-related use.
