The Business Management & Governance (BMG) team supports Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) across departments by providing appropriate Business Governance & Control (1B) functions and aligning to the Enterprise Risk Framework (ERF) which employs a 'three lines of defense' model to risk management that emphasizes and balances strong independent oversight with clear ownership for risk across the Bank. The BMG team, as part of the 1B function, is responsible for enabling the Business to identify and understand the risks it faces and support the Business to manage its risks appropriately in alignment with the Bank's strategy and risk appetite.
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
Complete Business & Portfolio level testing to identify risk and gaps related to business controls, processes and documentation across CPB
Experienced team of 110+ testing professionals who have an expert level knowledge of testing methodology and a good understanding of business controls, processes
Executes on a set testing schedule where frequency is often based on the level of risk according to regulatory requirements
Team provides consultation to businesses within CPB to support effective and meaningful action planning, audit readiness
Established Closed Loop Process including reporting, trend analysis, findings, etc.
Provide trusted and reliable model and tool reporting to senior leadership and risk and control partners on the state of risks, controls and outcomes..
What are the Intern responsibilities?
The intern would work closely with the manager and Senior Manager, Testing & Monitoring to support the following:
Build and document test scripts for 1B Testing & Monitoring programs.
On a monthly basis, perform cleanse of data used for reporting; Finalize raw data files (excel) used for monthly reporting.
Support with Control Testing documentation (e.g., test scripts)
Identify, implement, and enhance in-house automation opportunities
Provide ongoing support of other administrative functions or other activities as needed.
Superior Microsoft skills, particularly Excel.
Experience analyzing large amount of data and information to support conclusions
Risk and control mindset
