The successful candidate will be responsible for approving new suppliers, co-manufacturers, and co-packers, ensuring all documentation meets compliance standards across Canadian and U.S. regulations. This role involves maintaining CFIA licenses, managing preventative control plans, handling complaints, resolving non-conformances, and providing quarterly data reports.Detailed ResponsibilitiesAssist with managing internal QA programs IE (Supplier management, Internal release, Product specification, Traceability, Recall etc.)Assist with the approval of all new suppliers, co-manufacturers, co-packers and ensure all required documentation, certifications and audit reports are compliantEnsure compliance with both Canadian and USA regulationsMaintenance of CFIA licenses and preventative control plansAssist with Complaint program, resolve non-conformances, create efficiencies, and organized quarterly data to leadership and co-manufacturersProvide timely feedback on quality issues with recommended corrective actions and/or preventative measuresInvolved in the continuous development of the Quality Management System through risk assessment, creating new procedures, and identifying efficienciesManage data of technical results for reviewCollect and analyze statistical quality data to identify areas of improvementAssist with the compliance of an internal testing program for finished productsPlan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product complianceSupport innovation department as requiredSupport QA manager with projects and other duties as assignedThe Key to Success:Exemplifies strong initiative and performance without supervision; able to work with minimal direction and oversightReliably carry out duties and follow instructionsExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsCommitment to working collaboratively on and with cross functional teamsStrong oral and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external peersMeticulous organizational skills, very strong attention to detailMust be strongly literate in computing and software: SharePoint, Outlook, Word processing, PDF software, document management systems, etc.The Qualifications and Requirements:Minimum diploma in Microbiology, Quality Assurance, Food Science, or other related scientific field2+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Food Safety within the food industryFormal HACCP course completedPrevious manufacturing experience preferredGSFI implementation preferredKnowledge of Canadian and USA regulatory experience preferred
