Bird Heavy Civil is recruiting a QA/QC Coordinator to join our team at our Montreal office. If you are an experienced and qualified QA/QC Coordinator, seize this opportunity to work on projects that matter to you and to the communities in which we work

This position is based out of Port-Cartier.

What we are Looking For:

  • Bilingual
  • A degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience and knowledge in earthworks, geotechnical, formwork and concrete, super-structural steel, architectural, or infrastructure.
  • Understanding of relevant CSA, ASTM, ANSI, ASME, CWB, etc. 
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Standard
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and have a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Will be required to travel to client project sites in various locations and Provinces.
  • Must be able to work on a rotational basis.
  • Auditing experience would be an asset

What you’ll be working on:

The duties associated with this position may include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (“ITP”) in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, specifications, and design drawings/engineering instruction to be used by the Quality Control team for work verification.
  • Develop and/or review written work procedures with the Field Engineer to ensure compliance with the drawings, specifications, and quality program.
  • Support and promote the company’s Quality Assurance Program.
  • Preform work Inspections in accordance with project ITP’s. Includes developing and maintaining inspection records
  • Generate Non-Conformance Reports (“NCR”).
  • Generate quality reports required for management, owner, regulatory and other site-specific needs.
  • Work with owner/engineer technical representatives on quality issues and their resolution.
  • Update the job-specific quality procedures as required.
  • Assist in the performance of internal and external quality audits as required.
