Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Payments Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a pivotal role in a major SWIFT conversion effort. This project is critical to our ongoing efforts to modernize our payment systems, involving the conversion of SWIFT message types from MT to MX across the 100, 200, and 900 series messages. This techno-functional role demands a deep understanding of the payments domain, particularly at the tag and data level within these message types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Analysis and Conversion: Deep dive into the impacts of SWIFT message type conversion from MT to MX, focusing on the 100, 200, and 900 series messages. Analyze, review, and assess the technical nuances at the tag, type, number, variant, version, group, and system feed levels and have a strong understanding of the utilization of XML protocol.
  • External Coordination for Testing: Collaborate with external counterparties to facilitate rigorous testing processes, ensuring seamless conversion and integration.
  • Standard Release Impact Assessment: Aid in the analysis, review, and assessment of standard releases, understanding their implications at the source system level.
  • Integration and Workflow Communication: Comfortably discuss integration points, including the understanding of workflows and their integrations
  • Project Support and Leadership: Provide expert guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Required Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Proven expertise in working on payments programs related to SWIFT message types (MT, MX) at all levels (code changes, type/tag, number, field, format etc...)
  • Techno-Functional Acumen: Strong technical skills combined with an understanding of banking operations and payment workflows.
  • Collaboration Skills: Experience working with external parties for testing and validation purposes.
  • Analytical Abilities: Capable of conducting thorough analysis, review, and impact assessments of system upgrades and standard releases.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical details to a non-technical audience.
  • Preferred QualificationsISO20022 Knowledge: Experience and exposure to ISO20022 standards would be highly regarded.
  • Client Enterprise Application Exposure: Any prior exposure to Client Enterprise Application or similar banking platforms would be beneficial.
