This position is currently located in our Head Office location in Melville, Saskatchewan, with consideration for remote work within Saskatchewan . Remote Work arrangements will have an expectation to attend in person for the following: 

  • Onsite divisional meetings
  • Training
  • Engagement and team collaboration events
  • Corporate meetings and events

What you'll do:

  • Leadership Maven: Lead the Business Solutions Team, crafting strategies to meet long-term information system needs and ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Visionary Leadership: Guide SCIC’s executive team and business areas, fostering a culture of effective product development that resonates with our technology and corporate strategies.
  • Skills Cultivator : Provide clear direction to the Business Solutions Team, empowering them to enhance their skills and capabilities in meeting organizational demands.
  • Strategic Connector : Forge robust relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to co-design products and influence the integration of new technologies for maximum business impact.
  • Innovation Advocate : Drive the evolution of product and application life cycle management methodologies, leveraging best practices and continuous improvement principles.
  • Roadmap Architect : Develop and manage product roadmaps, ensuring transparency and accountability through meticulous status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Performance Guardian : Oversee support activities to guarantee optimal performance of applications and products in production, working closely with the business areas.
  • Risk Mitigator : Conduct thorough suitability assessments of technical and business applications, evaluating associated costs and risks to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Strategic Advisor : Keep abreast of industry trends and research findings to ensure our technology and digital investments are strategic and well-informed.
  • Innovation Enabler : Foster a culture of experimentation by supporting and facilitating innovative product and application work within defined cost and time constraints.

Qualifications:

  • As the lead candidate you will possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, or a related field, complemented by 8+ years of progressive leadership experience. We also recognize the value of a blend of education and hands-on experience.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to cultivate robust relationships and employ strategic thinking. These competencies are pivotal for navigating our dynamic landscape.
  • Demonstrate adeptness in fostering relationships at all levels, garnering support for transformative initiatives, and nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in establishing and nurturing relationships and partnerships with external entities.
  • Ability to lead and transition an organization from traditional to agile development and product delivery approaches.
  • Working knowledge of service and product co-design methodologies.
  • Proven ability to navigate and mitigate the risks and cost implications associated with business solution decisions.

  • Should the successful candidate participate in the Crop Insurance or AgriStability Programs, their account must be in good standing.
