Our client, in the food production (meat) space, is seeking a Director of New Business Development. Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President of Sales to develop and implement business strategies that will support the company’s short and long-term growth objectives. This role is responsible for defining long-term strategic goals for the company, identifying new customers, market, and business opportunities, negotiating, closing business deals, and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Vice President of Sales and Business Development to analyze market data/insights, customer/industry trends, and internal metrics to identify optimal customer segments, product offerings, and market opportunities
  • Identifies trending market opportunities and ideas for potential growth opportunities by contacting potential partners, and exploring win/win opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements as well as networking throughout the industry
  • Review potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential returns, and projected financials
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials and estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts and integrating contract requirements with business operations
Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising or equivalent
  • Financial skills in order to prepare budgets, cost standards, analyze variances, etc.
  • Experience working in the fresh protein/disassembly industry preferred
  • Possess strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to develop and close business opportunities
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
  • Excellent prospecting and relationship building skills
  • Willingness to travel
