The Risk Consultant will report directly to the Vice-President – Risk Control Services and will work with HUB account executives and clients in the evaluation and mitigation of property and liability related risks and develop and deliver risk reduction programs. Provide exceptional service to clients in western Canada and other locations as required
Work collaboratively with other HUB risk consultants to ensure client needs are met
Consult with clients to understand risk management needs and objectives
Advise clients on best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies
Support the Implementation of risk management and safety best practices using generally accepted project management and consulting practices
Support client acquisition and retention activities
Conduct management and employee training sessions for clients as needed
Conduct loss analysis & trending to identify client focus areas
Perform audits and assessments at client sites
Provide oversight of insurance carrier loss control activities
Provide support to the sales and service teams in the region
Contribute to special projects as required
A mid-level Risk Consultant will be fully fluent in French and English and will have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent technical training) and 3 or more years of experience as a safety/risk/loss control consultant or technician in the insurance brokerage or carrier environments, or as a risk/safety manager in industry.
A Senior Risk Consultant will be fully fluent in French and English and will have a bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience as a safety/risk/loss control consultant or technician in the insurance brokerage or carrier environments, or as a risk/safety manager in industry.
Strong working knowledge of National and Provincial Building and Fire Codes as well as relevant NFPA standards
Experience in real estate, construction, heavy industry, wood forest products, and/or manufacturing environments is desirable
Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training designation is desirable
Risk Management/Loss Control experience in insurance is desirable
Completion of (or progression towards) professional risk/safety designations is desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Proficiency with spreadsheet analysis, report writing, and presentation development

Un consultant en gestion des risques de niveau intermédiaireparlera couramment le français et l’anglais et aura un baccalauréat (ou une formation technique équivalente) et 3 ans ou plus d’expérience en tant que consultant ou technicien en sécurité / risque / contrôle des pertes dans les environnements de courtage d’assurance ou de transporteur, ou en tant que gestionnaire des risques / sécurité dans l’industrie.
Un consultant principal en gestion des risques parleracouramment le français et l’anglais et aura un baccalauréat et 6 ans ou plus d’expérience en tant que consultant en sécurité / risque / contrôle des pertes ou technicien dans l’âge du courtier d’assurance ou des environnements de transporteur, ou en tant que gestionnaire des risques / sécurité dans l’industrie.
Une expérience dans l’immobilier, la construction, l’industrie lourde, les produits forestiers du bois et / ou les environnements de fabrication est souhaitable
Le titre d’ingénieur professionnel ou d’ingénieur en formation est souhaitable
Une expérience de la gestion des risques et du contrôle des pertes est souhaitable
Compétences éprouvées en analyse et en résolution de problèmes
Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale en anglais
Maîtrise de l’analyse de feuilles de calcul, de la rédaction de rapports et de l’élaboration de présentations
