About the RoleReporting to the HR and LR Manager, the HR Generalist will be responsible for both general Human Resources and Labour Relations functions including but not limited to employee relations, disability management, conducting investigations, ADP administration, providing general day-to-day employee assistance and a variety of projects.This is a full-time position out of our head office, located in Markham, ON. TEAM Group offers a hybrid work model, three days in the office and two days remote. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel, up to 3 nights per month for this role to support various site locations.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, update, and implement employee policies and company standards ensuring compliance with HR best practices;Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute Human Resource programs including but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and non-work related leaves of absences;Assist with employee-related issues including investigations, conflict resolution, grievance handling, performance management, disciplinary action, and terminations;Administer and oversee the disability management process including: return to work programs for all non-occupational injuries or illnesses, working closely with employees, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to facilitate smooth transitions and accommodations;Maintain an accurate database of employee records in the HRIS system including but not limited to: new hires, salary changes, and employment updates;Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws, and recommended best practices to management;Manage and deliver training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge and promote career growth;Enter and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information, including new hires, salary changes, benefit changes, and other relevant employment updates, into the HRIS systems;Provide professional correspondence including phone and e-mail communications, formal letters, memos, and notices to various stakeholders;Assist with the management of a performance appraisal process that aligns with business needs and drives high performance;Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies;Additional duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience;Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a Generalist capacity;Exposure and support to working with management client groups will be considered an asset;Post-secondary education in Human Resources is required;CHRP or CHRL designation is strongly preferred;Experience using ADP is an asset;Prior experience in an industrial setting is an asset;Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred but not necessary;Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality;Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.TEAM Group is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment where all employees feel valued and respected, and where every employee can realize their potential.TEAM Group is an equal opportunity employer; as such, accommodation is available to applicants that may require it.
