We have received funding for this role through Women and Gender Equality Canada’s Capacity Building fund to support the growth and sustainability of our organization. The Opportunity:We Worthy Women is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are seeking an individual for this position who has relevant experience in non-profit growth and development and an awareness of gender equality and the gender-based violence sector. The Program Coordinator will support our Program Director to develop organizational policies, secure operational funding, develop partnerships, and conduct strategic planning activities. Responsibilities:Support organizational growth and developmentDevelop policies and processes to manage people and projects within the organizationAssist in board development and managementDevelop/utilize tools to oversee projects and measure impactCollaborate on the development of a five-year strategic plan for the organizationProject and program developmentConduct research to support funding applications and the development of future projects and initiatives, in line with the strategic planGrant writing and fundraisingConduct an environmental scan of relevant grants and funding opportunities that are availableDevelop and streamline grant writing processes and content for funding applicationsSupport the Program Director in conducting sponsorship outreach to secure more sustainable, operational funding sourcesRelationship building and partnership developmentDevelop and sustain relationships with other community organizations and individuals working within the sectorEngage with various levels of government for program development and funding opportunitiesDevelop partnerships to collaborate on impact initiatives Attend relevant events, conferences, and information sessions to build relationships and support the work of We Worthy WomenQualifications:Bachelor’s level degree or equivalentExperience in non-profit growth and developmentExperience in non-profit fundraising and grant writingAwareness and understanding of the gender-based violence sectorExperience conducting research for program and policy development would be considered an assetExperience working with different levels of government would be considered an assetStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and take initiativeOpen to a flexible and dynamic work environment If you don’t meet all of these qualifications that’s okay We’re looking for someone who is excited to support the growth and development of our organization - if there are other things you bring to the table that can do that, we want to hear about it Perks of Working with We Worthy Women:Flexible, hybrid work environment with the opportunity to shape a growing non-profitFour day work week (Monday - Thursday, 32 hours/week)Three weeks of vacation annually, plus organization-wide summer and winter breaksSick and personal days as neededMonthly $50 stipend towards phone billMonthly membership to a co-working space in HalifaxAs an organization we value compassion, collaboration, innovation, diversity, and leading well balanced lives.
