As a Category Management Advisor, you will be a key player in supporting Walmart Category Management team. You will collaborate directly with the buying team to identify key department/category metrics and translate that data into actionable insights. Reporting to the Team Lead, Category Management, you will lead, enhance, and grow the relationship with our Merchant partner by being a thought-leader and "go-to" resource for category shopper and consumer trends, as well as merchandising solutions.
Collaborate with the Walmart Category Management team to identify key department/category metrics and translate data into actionable insights.
Provide innovative solutions for driving growth in our product categories using syndicated data.
Develop persuasive analysis and presentations using available data and consumer research tools to drive sales fundamentals, category, and growth.
Collaborate with Key Account Managers to identify opportunities for category growth and present meaningful observations and solutions.
Work closely with internal stakeholders in Commercial Strategy and Marketing to ensure strategic alignment on category recommendations.
Lead analysis from various sources, including Nielsen, Circana, Retail Link, Shopper Intelligence to identify business opportunities and provide recommendations.
Develop category management best practices and provide support at the store level on an ad-hoc basis.
University degree in marketing, administration, or a relevant field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management in the consumer goods industry (small appliance experience an asset)
Proficiency with planogram management software (JDA/Blue Yonder Space planning).
High proficiency with syndicated data tools (Nielsen MarketTrack, Homescan, Circana [NPD]).
Experience with retailer POS/loyalty databases (e.g., Retail Link) is an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Bilingualism is an asset.
Excellent time management and priority-setting skills.
Hybrid Role- based from Mississauga sales office, Walmart office
