Tasks:
  1. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  2. Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
  3. Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs
  4. Mediate labour disputes and grievances
  5. Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
  6. Administer benefit employment equity and other human resources programs
  7. Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  8. Manage training and development strategies
  9. Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
  10. Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
  11. Oversee the preparation of reports
  12. Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants
  13. Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  14. Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  15. Oversee payroll administration
  16. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
