Business Development Specialist, Data Centers

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Business Development Specialist for Data Centers. The primary function of the Business Development Specialist, Data Centers, is to create long-term value through building mutually beneficial relationships influencing loyalty within the data center sector in the Tier II, III and Edge segments. The Business Development Specialist will engage decision-makers in the industry through conferences, tradeshows, events, social media, and other means necessary to develop brand awareness and market expansion.

What you will be doing:

Adhere to the organizational mission, vision, and values statement

Conduct research via all available methods to gain knowledge and direction for the market

Add and update key accounts and partners data & profile information within CRM (STAR)

Use CRM (STAR) to log each interaction with all contacts and understand all past, present, and future data center projects.

Effective follow-up processes for all customer interactions

Develop a business plan and outline goals annually

Work with marketing department to develop and implement vertical market specific collateral as well as event planning to include dinners, sponsorships, and other requests as necessary

Participate in industry related organizations (board memberships, meetings, events)

Collaborate and communicate with the sales team to develop and maintain key account and partner relationships

Discuss and review opportunities with the engineering, product management, and new product development teams

Complete and submit reports to include bi-weekly reports and show/conference reports

Demonstrate strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills

Write case studies, white papers, and editorial on data centers as requested

Create and follow a budget related to travel, sponsorships, and events

Attend industry related tradeshows and conferences as well as partnership summits and open houses, and interact with executive level decision

The skills and experience you need:

Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years experience in similar in related role

Previous Business Development or customer facing experience, preferably in the data center vertical

Candidate should have established contacts within the Tier II, Tier III and edge data center segments

Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

CRM software

Excellent presentation skills

PSP Certification (or willing to obtain), others as required
