One of our manufacturing clients in Cambridge , ON region is looking for a Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator for their facility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, implement, and administer mandatory safety, health, and environmental programs, ensuring alignment with regulations, internal policies, and the Collective Agreement. Additionally, contribute to program development.
  • Conduct new employee safety orientations at the Cambridge site and oversee the training system for mandatory periodic refresher training on diverse topics.
  • Collaborate with the EHS manager to create and oversee an internal incident/accident reporting and tracking system. Conduct analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, contributing to the formulation and management of action plans.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to review accident/incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), providing administrative support by scheduling audits and meetings, preparing and distributing monthly meeting minutes, and following up on action plans.
  • Coordinate the collection of EHS performance metrics and prepare necessary reports.
  • Organize and oversee employee health surveillance evaluations as required by company policies, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and legal requirements.
  • Manage Early and Safe Return to Work incidents for WSIB claims, identifying suitable jobs, developing and managing return-to-work plans, and coordinating meetings with relevant representatives.
  • Assess, develop, and coordinate the review of all jobs to uphold position-specific physical demands analysis (PDA's). Coordinate external ergonomic resources to ensure PDA accuracy and drive/manage departmental changes for ergonomic improvements.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a 24/7 manufacturing/industrial environment, with a preference for union experience.
  • Strong knowledge of various Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and ISO requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in WSIB case management, with knowledge of law and policy, return-to-work planning, and best practices.
