Health & Safety Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Ensure policies are communicated effectively to all employees.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of workplace environments, processes, and equipment. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and hazards.
- Stay up-to-date with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and codes of practice. Ensure the organization complies with all legal requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing refresher courses. Promote awareness and understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols and first aid provisions. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of workplace facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization by fostering open communication, employee engagement, and recognition of safe behaviors.
- Maintain accurate records of all health and safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets. Prepare regular reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including operations, human resources, and environmental management, to integrate health and safety considerations into all aspects of business operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) preferred.
- Previous experience in health and safety management, preferably in the automotive industry or a related manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective control measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to drive change and implement safety initiatives.
