Are you an experienced Construction Inspector who’s worked on high complexity MTO or municipal highway, road, and bridge projects? Parsons is currently seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to work on infrastructure projects in our growing team. Projects includes highway and road-widening, pavement rehabilitation, bridge remediation, and the development of undergroundinfrastructure.

We need our Inspectors to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role you will: perform well defined and sometimes difficult inspection tasks, including monitoring quality control procedures. You will inspect various facets of work on the construction site and perform continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Our inspectors document nonconformance and may participate in discussions to determine appropriate resolution. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, mechanical, or electrical. Willingness to travel and/or to relocate to field sites is expected, this position is focused within MTO’s Northeast Region.
The successful candidate will conduct daily inspections to determine contract adherence and conformance with contractspecifications.She/he will be responsible for bridge and road inspection on existing projects.Additional responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental regulations.
- Maintaining detailed diaries and photographs to document daily construction activities.
- Conduct inspection as per applicable inspection requirements, such as MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual.
- Coordination of onsite sub-consultants and quality assurance material testing.
- Reporting of installed quantities to verify applications for monthly payment and change order work.
- Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and other documentation as required by the construction contract.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in construction inspection with MTO or municipal transportation projects
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and/or combination of related experience
- PEO registered as an EIT or P.Eng.orOACETT registered Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi)
- Knowledge of the requirements of MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual (CAITM)
- Knowledge of applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control / quality assurance material testing methods.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize computer software such as MS Word and Excel.
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license
- Ability to lift 30kg.
