Morrison Hershfield's Transportation Division provides comprehensive services for roadway, highway, transit, rail, bridge, and related projects. We are seeking a Senior Inspector to join our transportation team in the Greater Toronto area, playing a key role in delivering environmental assessment and design services for public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Performs site surveys, confirming scope of work, obtaining relevant information, equipment, and materials, and maintains quality and payment records.
  • Compiles field and test data in a report format for review by the Contract Administrator.
  • Liaises with service providers for specialized inspections and testing to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with terms, specifications, or agreements.
  • Attends site meetings and reconnaissance as required.
  • Obtains video and photographic records as needed.
  • Records, reviews, and addresses contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution.
  • Attends site meetings and conducts site reconnaissance.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities without losing focus.

Requirements:

  • A Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in engineering/construction.
  • Prior experience inspecting transportation structures and working on bridges, culverts, and/or retaining walls.
  • Registration as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO.
  • Designation as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) is an asset.
  • Able to work overtime, on weekends, and nights as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office is an asset.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Detail-oriented.
