Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. This is a leadership role that requires strong supervisory skills and a passion for creating delicious dishes. Duties: - Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menu items - Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation - Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance and training as needed - Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations - Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as necessary - Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and menu ideas - Monitor food quality and consistency - Assist in managing kitchen operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in the hospitality or food industry - Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team - Excellent cooking skills with a thorough understanding of various cooking techniques - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong communication and organizational skills - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Skills: - Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff. - Supervising: Experience in supervising kitchen operations. - Cook: Proficient in cooking techniques and recipe execution. - Kitchen: Knowledge of kitchen equipment, tools, and procedures. - Hospitality: Understanding of providing excellent customer service in a hospitality setting. - Bartending: Familiarity with bartending techniques and drink preparation (preferred). - Restaurant: Experience working in a restaurant environment. - Food industry: Knowledge of industry trends, ingredients, and techniques. - Food safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices. - Food handling: Ability to handle and prepare food safely. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50-$23.82 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay
  • Tips

Experience:

  • Cooking: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)

Work Location: In person
