Payment Specialist

The Payment Specialist position is responsible for verifying, resolving, and entering various documents accurately by the required deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process timesheets and mileage by entering, verifying, reviewing, resolving, and editing information timely and accurately.
Perform other related duties as assigned such as cost share entries.
Researching information and problem solving for payment accuracy.
Creative and innovative thinking.
Working various pay period reports dup report/over budget report.
Provide backup assistance to other departments and promoting being a team player.
Provide courteous and professional service in any inquiries with co-workers, managers, vendors, participants, ICA, and the state.
Provide assistance with other various duties such as cost-share, bank runs, and unresolved and problem timesheets.
Maintaining production requirements.
Having a full understanding of payment rules and requirements of the program.
Abide by program policy, handbook, and waiver requirements.
Practice and promote safety in the work place.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Requires a high level of data entry experience four plus year preferred. Some college in business/accounting, degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which will provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
Moderate knowledge of PC software and ability to learn new software. Ability to direct the work of volunteer or temporaries as needed. Ability and desire to cross-train; learn the work of other departmental staff in an effort to provide an effective back up when needed. Maintain a high energy level that is focused on completing departmental and agency goals in a professional and timely manner. Possess the desire to learn and grow with the job, enhancing responsibility and skill to a higher level.
