Role Description The Shipping & Receiving Specialist plays a crucial role in our logistics and supply chain operations. This role involves executing shipping, receiving, inspection, storage, and handling of raw materials and products to ensure efficient and accurate delivery to internal departments, external contractors, or customers. In conjunction to the Shipping & Receiving Duties, this role is responsible for operating various types of forklifts to efficiently move materials and products throughout the facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of shipping and receiving processes while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Receive and verify incoming materials/shipments against purchase orders Inspect materials for any physical damage or rust Prepare export declarations, certificates, and related Bills of Lading/Airway Bills Coordinate shipping and receiving with logistics and transportation companies Log shipping/receiving transactions using the ERP System (Epicor) Operate and maintain RF Scanner (handheld warehouse computer) Perform material sorting, labeling, bagging, repacking, and taping of boxes Distribute received items to the appropriate person or department Perform inventory counts and report discrepancies Operate mechanical forklifts and pallet jacks Operate a 10-ton overhead crane in a safe and compliant manner, upon completion of required training. Responsible for operating a company vehicle to perform pickups and deliveries as required, in alignment with business needs. Conduct daily checks on all forklifts and the crane Work on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed Support facility housekeeping and maintenance as required Perform other related duties as assigned Ensure compliance with company security requirements, including identifying any processing areas that are not in compliance Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting any unsafe conditions Work well with others on a continuous and consistent basis Present and maintain professional behavior in all internal and external company interactions Additional duties as required by Management Qualifications 3-5 years of proven experience in shipping and receiving 2-3 years of forklift and crane operations (certified) Must possess a valid driver’s license Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook), and experience using ERP or inventory management systems. Confident and positive demeanor with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet tight shipping and receiving deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams, carriers, and suppliers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a dependable and cooperative team player.
