Regulatory Compliance Coordinator

*We will be giving preference to candidates who have experience working specifically in Education or Career College Industry*

The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the college fulfills its compliance requirements at all levels including adherence to provincial, regulatory, and legal requirements, as well as internal compliance policies. The role includes administrative and project coordination as well as conducting regular audits and supporting the maintenance of policies and procedures within the organization. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory standards. The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator reports to the Director of Compliance and Curriculum and will work closely with various departments to implement and monitor compliance initiatives, mitigate risks, and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Administration, Documentation and Reporting

  • Ensure follow-up and tracking of compliance data and documentation to ensure accurate reporting as well as accessible information audits and inspections.
  • Review compliance reports campus annual reports (class lists) to identify data that is out of compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute compliance reports to management as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including audits, training sessions, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of policy and process documents, enrollment contracts, affiliation agreements and other compliance related documents.
  • Manage the Compliance Calendar including key regulatory and reporting dates

2. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the organization and program delivery.
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Support the planning, design, development, and implementation of compliance initiatives and evaluation of internal processes to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

3. Audit Management:

  • Plan, conduct, and oversee internal audits to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Identify and assess areas of risk or non-compliance and assist with the development of corrective action plans to address deficiencies.
  • Coordinate external audits or inspections as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and report on compliance-related issues and trends to senior management.

4. Policy and Procedure Management:

  • Assist with the review and update of policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.

5. Training and Education:

  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees to enhance awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on compliance-related matters.

6. Stakeholder communications

  • Develop and maintain strong positive working relationships with all levels of the organization and external community partners.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry trends and recommend updates to compliance programs accordingly.
  • Source industry feedback for new or revised program applications.
  • Complete competitor analysis and new market research as required.
  • Participate in compliance-related meetings, committees, and industry forums as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory affairs.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software/tools.
