Opportunity:On behalf of our client a large law firm located downtown, we are recruiting for a legal assistant with experience in a variety of litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have three years experience minimum, a fast & accurate typing speed, is well organized, takes initiative and wants to continue to learn and grow in their area of expertise.ResponsibilitiesConduct court searches;Transcribe dictation;Draft correspondence and court documents;Pre-trial and trial preparation including maintenance of all trial binders and limitations;Prepare a variety of litigation legal documents including briefs and factums;Schedule various applications and questionings;Manage workflow for lawyersCoordinate and schedule meetings and maintain calendarsPreparation of accounts and time entryGeneral administrative tasks including opening and closing files, photocopying and scanning, preparing binders, and file managementRespond to daily inquiries from lawyers, legal assistants, and clientsQualificationsBe able to multi-task and prioritizeMust have strong skills in MS Excel, Word, OutlookHas excellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh professionalism and the ability to respect confidentialityStrong organizational skillsStrong understanding of legal procedures, scheduling, limitations and deadlinesInternal and external customer service skillsSelf-starter who takes initiativeReliable and accountableStrong knowledge of legal softwareMust be able to work independently as well as within a team environmentThis is an immediate opportunity with a competitive compensation package.Please respond in confidence.Thank you in advance to all applicants.Referrals are very welcome and rewarded $$$ upon placement.KPM Staffing Inc.
