The United Church of Canada Office of The Moderator and General Secretary is seeking an individual to fill the role of Executive Governance Admin Support on a permanent full-time basis (35 hours/week).

The Executive Governance Admin Support provides administrative expertise to the General Secretary. They take the lead in managing, coordinating and supporting the Triennial and Annual Meetings of the General Council, its’ Executive and many committees and task groups.

The Executive Governance Admin Support serves as the primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to coordination of meetings for the General Council, its Executive and committees and task groups. They will have the ability to exercise good judgment, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills and the ability to maintain a balance among multiple priorities. Must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a variety of projects/activities and their deadlines.

This position is a key member of The Office of the Moderator and General Secretary (OMGS) administrative team and works in collaboration with Sr. Governance Lead and Program Coordinator.

The main responsibilities for this position would include:

  • Executive Governance Admin Support:  Provide high level administrative support for the planning and operation of meetings of the Triennial and Annual Meetings of the General Council, and its Executive, Governance Committee, General Council Business and Staff Planning Group which includes managing the logistics of proposal, motions, reports, and related materials before, throughout, and following the General Council Meetings; Prepare and coordinate the Record of Proceedings (ROP), Take, transcribe and distribute notes/minutes and manage and coordinate electronic presentations, video conferencing and maintaining an electronic filing system.
  • Administrative Support : Provide day to day administrative expertise to the Senior Governance Lead which includes coordination and scheduling meetings, appointments and monitoring expenses relevant to the portfolio and producing correspondence, documents. presentations and providing planning and research.
  • Project Coordination Support : Provide support in the various aspects of a structured project plan.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $54,657 to $62,293 with the ability to progress to a maximum of $72,875. This is based on category 5 on our salary range. Placement on the salary range will be based on factors such as market condition, internal equity, candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role. Pension and group benefit plans coverage and annual vacation round out this compensation package.
