The Project: The current project will have the successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of the GBMO in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Typical Day In The Role

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Support the Associate Director, Off-Boarding & Client Lifecycle Management to drive successful execution and completion of client off boards in a controlled and timely manner across GBM Canada
  • Engage business and develop business partnerships to gain buy in to strategic off boarding
  • Deepen key strategic client relationships and to leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Support the development of a robust client off boarding operating model in order to timely exitrisky or nonstrategic clients which have been approved by the business.
  • Provide accurate and complete management information on status, risks and issues with the process and escalate any control weakness.
  • Supporting the relevant remediation initiatives as assigned, including planning, tracking, execution, as well as developing robust process, relevant training materials and procedures documents.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Must Have Skills

  • 2-4 years experience as a Data Security Admin
  • 2-4 years experience with global banking and capital markets business in a client facing capacity
  • Knowledgeable about end-to-end workflows among the Front, Middle, and Back Offices
  • Proficient Excel and PowerPoint skills with experience in developing executive level presentations

Nice to Have Skills

  • Prior client Off-Boarding & Client Lifecycle Management experience is an asset

Soft Skills

  • Must be able to operate effectively within a stressful environment with changing priorities and tight time frames which are closely scrutinized by Senior/Executive Management
  • The position requires business acumen, sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, relationship management, and time management skills are a must
  • Fast learner, strong analytical skills and critical thinking capabilities to frame and structure complex issues effectively and develop insights and recommendation.
  • Change agent with high energy, demonstrated strong ability to work under pressure, deal with ambiguities and uncertainties, and drive results
  • Strong communication, organizational, project management, and planning skills

Education

  • University degree in business, finance, Law or other relevant field; PMP, CAMs designation or

experience is asset.

Best vs Average: The ideal candidate would be eager to learn and ready to jump into a new project with enthusiasm. The hiring team advised a good attitude and well rounded personality would be an ideal fit with the team. They are willing to teach and grow the contractors experience but a prior knowledge of Client Off-Boarding would be much appreciated.

This interview would have a mix of behavioral and knowledge based questions based on the descriptions subject matter (Capital Markets, Stakeholder Management). A 2nd interview may be required if the 1st round goes well for multiple candidates.
