Housing Business Operations Lead

CANAROPA is a national builder’s hardware company situated in Montreal (QC) with branches across Canada. The ideal candidate will cooperate with department leads from Canaropa’s corporate office, to perform its core functions, Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Customer Services, Light Manufacturing, Pick, Pack and Shipping of Orders, as well as related support functions which include Sales, Facilities, Human Resources, Information Technology and Quality Control.

In conjunction with the HR Department recruit, develop, review performance, and retain permanent and/or temporary staff as well as negotiate with resource providers for workers on contract.
Ensure company’s policies and procedures are up to date and respected by all personnel.
In conjunction with the Legal Department ensure all personnel, rental, insurance contracts, as well as any other contracts or agreements are current and up to date.
In conjunction with the IT Department, ensure the hardware and software is properly configured for each role to perform tasks effectively and efficiently.
In conjunction with the Accounting Department ensure payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions are well executed in a timely manner.
In conjunction with the Quality Assurance Department, ensure Incoming and outgoing inspection are performed in a timely and effective manner.
In conjunction with the Quality Assurance Department, ensure all tools and equipment used in the warehouse are well maintained and calibrated as per QC protocols.
In conjunction with the Purchasing Department ensure inventory is well managed between warehouses and suppliers as required.
In conjunction with the Purchasing Department ensure all inventory in current warehouse that is at its end of life, is depleted from stock in the most economical and timely manner.
Ensure that personnel are well trained and operate in a safe and productive environment to perform light manufacturing and assembly, such as keying, engraving, finishing, cutting, drilling, assembly, product reconfigurations, labelling and packaging.
Ensure facilities are well maintained (electrical, mechanical, heating and ventilation, as well as all plumbing) with adequate house keeping services.
Negotiate with local service providers to provide all necessary utilities to the warehouse.
Expand, add, or relocate warehouse, equipment and personnel as required to meet with the sales growth initiatives and strategic objectives, in the most cost effective and timely manner.
Support Sales Department and its growth targets with professional Customer Services, including receptionist, and support the Marketing Department with Industry and Trade Shows, Managing of Product Displays, marketing materials, product literature including catalogs, calendars, etc.
The ideal candidate will be computer literate and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. They must be conscientious, attentive to detail and possess a sound understanding of business processes and concepts. They must have experience in mapping and evaluating various business processes and protocols. They must be resourceful and able to devise creative solutions to problems. They posses a strong proficiency using MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Access, and Power Point.

Must possess effective time management skills.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in management or business is preferred with 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
