Asset Control Representative

Position PurposeThis position owns the Asset Protection function of Asset Management in Western Canada. They will implement the Asset Management strategy with the objective of maximizing asset productivity, asset recovery, and delivering CHEP’s value proposition to the equipment dealer/recycler channels. This position provides insight on Asset Recovery and interfaces with CHEP NA to ensure best practices are being followed. This position is a key driver in building CHEPs value proposition and strengthening our position in the produce sector. This position tackles some of the most hostile locations that CHEP employees will encounter.ScopeWestern Canada (4 Provinces and 2 Territories; approx. 2,000kms)Field based role with travel required 60-80% of the time, depending on locationMajor/Key AccountabilitiesEngage with and monitor highly confrontational and potentially hostile pallet recycler locations across Western Canada (BC to Manitoba)Enforcement of CHEPs legal title and ownership of its assetsLead in regional legal actions against any entity that does not comply with CHEPs asset ownership and property rightsEngage with any commercial account that is uncooperative while working within the CHEP model/pool utilizing their expertise in dealing with hostile/confrontational situations/locationsEngage with local and regional authorities to help or assist in the collection and return of CHEP assetsThis position will support key Non Cooperative Distributor locations with a main focus toward fresh produce locationsDue to the high risk nature of this position, must maintain and be proactive in attending safety training sessions and be a peer leader in this spaceMaintain detailed records of all interactions, including pictures/drone footage of recycler locations that can be used in legal actionsManage process for increasing collections at recyclers with cross functional teams ie. Low Volume Recovery and logistics teamsMaintains accurate and up to date account information and key contact information in Salesforce including activity reportingMaintenance and regulation of stray asset recovery and non-revenue earning asset programs through communication and enforcement of ownership rights in compliance with commercial terms and Asset Protection policies.Enhancement and monitoring of all control systems and performance metrics to track asset productivity, minimize losses, and decrease asset cycle time.MeasuresTotal pallet volume recoveredW Flows/stray recoveries capturedLegal cases presented and won in the marketTotal site visits (per week/per month)Authority/ Decision MakingDecision autonomy for ongoing account healthCollaborate with manager in implementing new strategiesKey contactsInternal:Asset Management/Protection TeamEntire Commercial Team (Sales/Retail/BD)LegalOperationsLogisticsExternal:Customers – All Levels and RolesExternal Legal CounselOther Brambles OrganizationsQualificationsUniversity Degree, preferably in Business or Supply ChainExperienceProven Knowledge of Supply Chain / LogisticsProven track record of success as part of a multi-level teamExpert in Relationship Building CapabilitiesStrong Business AccumenLaw Enforcement/Legal background would be idealSkills and KnowledgeEnergetic, confident relationship builder, team player, decision maker, strategic & critical thinker, excellent communicator & organizer, works well in matrix structureStrong knowledge and understanding of CHEP’s business modelConfident and strong to manage challenging accounts. Base pay starting at $88,000/annuallySalary ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
