The Food Bank Coordinator oversees all aspects of the food bank's operations, including acquisition, distribution, volunteer coordination, community outreach, and facility maintenance. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the food bank. Education/Certifications:
Completion of high school, grade 12, or equivalent plus post-secondary education in Food Services or specialized Food Service courses. (Note: an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)
Food Safe certification
Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification
Other training as required by contract or The Salvation Army
Experience:
A minimum of two years of prior related experience, including one year of experience in areas of supervision and budgeting.
Previous experience in food distribution, or community organizing preferred.
