Reporting to the Director of Supported Living, the Community Engagement Manager (CEM) is responsible for overseeing all services and budgets within their assigned regional hub. The CEM embraces and communicates the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategies, acting as an ambassador of DeafBlind Ontario Services while building awareness and relationships within communities. The regional hub consists of Georgina, Barrie and Innisfil area.

YOUR ROLE

  • Acts as a point of contact and community liaison connecting with local partners, businesses, individuals, and other community organizations, proactively establishing community connections and partnerships to achieve goals, enhance networks and maintain internal collaboration.
  • Responsible for managing the implementation and monitoring of the organizations strategic plans though the regional operating and financial plans, ensuring that regional services and supports operate in compliance with DeafBlind Ontario Services policies, procedures, guidelines, values, and relevant legislation. See Appendix A
  • Is responsible to serve as the primary contact for contractors, municipal partners, and MCCSS compliance reviews for assigned regions collaborating with the IT & Facilities, QAPL, and HR to ensure all inspections and services are completed, and records are maintained.
  • Effectively leads teams, managing recruitment efforts, establishing work priorities and goals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship, evaluating performance, and fostering cohesive teams.
  • Performs Serious Occurrence duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion of a College diploma in community services or a related field
  • 6 – 10 years of experience in a similar leadership capacity
  • Experience within the not-for-profit sector preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong knowledge of various community resources, including planning tables, provincial and local governments.
  • Ability to effectively network within their communities
  • Strong knowledge of human resources practices, standards, and relevant legislation
  • Strong collaborative leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach, develop and maintain confidentiality with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to facilitate and manage change, while demonstrating flexibility, innovation, and creativity.
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation (e.g., new acts and government policies, procedures and practices pertaining to services provided by the organization
