Event Day - VolunteerRole DetailsWhen you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. It takes all of us to take on cancer. Volunteer with us at one of our signature events in your community on event day. You can choose a specific role and shift (s) based on availability. You can also assist us when we need event support on an on-call basis in your own community.Description• Attend a location during your agreed shift Variety of duties/tasks that could include: • Greet and engage participants during registration and activities • General accounting • Set up/tear down of tents, tables/chairs, banners • Waste management • Selling and/or decorating Luminaries TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY, ALL PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE OBSERVED Why we need youRelay For Life Event Day Volunteers are an important part of the success of this event. Whether you will be helping with site set up/tear down, greeting participants, selling/decorating luminaries, photography or tallying donations, there is a volunteer position for you What were looking for• Great energy and enthusiasm • Team-oriented and community-minded • Communicative and works well in public environments • Passionate and eager to make a significant impact • Some roles might require good physical health (i.e. lifting heavy weights) We welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities and interests. Some roles require you to be at least 19 years of age and may require heavy lifting due to the scope of the role and responsibilities.
