**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programs and Services, the Coordinator, Events & Productions is responsible for the development of private and corporate event offerings as part of the broader events strategy, including collaboration in creation of marketing packages, advertising, and sales plans. The role is supported by both the Marketing & Communications team and Parks Program & Services team.
- Support the development and implementation of CH events strategy. Accountable for elevating the quality and effectiveness of CH events and corporate business opportunities through planning and coordination, with an intent to increase reach, attendance, and impact on key business objectives.
- Responsible for oversight of planning efforts relating to key corporate and special events. (CH Foundation Gala, Staff recognition events, Board & local Chamber events, etc)
- Develop work plans, workflow, timelines, event guides, and staffing plans related to large scale events to ensure timely delivery internally and ensure a clear flow of communication between departments. Provide status & progress updates to senior staff from all necessary departments.
- Provide direction and leadership to reports & on-site events staff and volunteers, supporting employee engagement and accountability management.
- Conduct site visits and planning, provide onsite event execution, leadership and training to staff and volunteers.
- Serve as a primary contact for any 3rd party vendors collaborating with CH on event hosting.
- A key partner and consultant to teams across the organization, providing tools and resources for small to large scale events including input for event format, flow, venue location, etc. to support delivery of high caliber event experiences. Ensuring that CH events and corporate business opportunities remain aligned with the brand and strategic priorities.
- Review new and existing event offerings to ensure alignment with brand and strategic priorities through an ‘Events Scorecard’.
- Develop business cases for new products or services relating to events; work with manager to gather support and move new concepts towards implementation
- Source and assess industry research and best practices, identifying customer and market trends
- Create and foster Tourism relationships and partnerships

**Your Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning and delivery
- Education in event planning, marketing or recreation and leisure service from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent relevant work experience
- Marketing, B2B development, information management or administrative function within a corporate environment are skills that would contribute to success in this role.
- Experience with project management; including workplans, schedules, budgets and using project management tools. A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset but not required.
- Strong evaluation, organizational, and time management skills to forecast and plan workloads
- Experience developing, fostering, and sustaining effective and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including experience presenting ideas to diverse groups
- Skills in customer service, strategic thinking, problem solving, analysis, negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Ability to lead and influence teams of staff that may not directly report into this position.
- Extensive knowledge of permitting, public health, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) requirements for events.
- Understanding of vendor contracts and service agreements and ability to relate them to CH policies, guidelines and procedures
- Knowledge of the requirements for proposals and reporting for Federal grant programs.
