Business Development Manager

The Opportunity:
The newly created position of Business Development Manager will be the leader and champion for driving sales and customer growth in VSSL’s B2B channel. As part of a small business, this position will play a pivotal role in informing strategic direction and the tactics we employ to achieve success. The right candidate is highly motivated by selling, putting wins on the board, and positively collaborating with a broad team across departments. They will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in outbound selling, B2B marketing, CRM management, and growing wholesale distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead seasonal GTM execution for customer acquisition and retention in wholesale and corporate sales channels.
- Implement the systems, processes, and KPI’s to manage the customer pipeline efficiently and effectively.
- Implement sell-through tactics to achieve retailer sell-through KPI’s and a consistent reorder cadence with customers.
- Work cross-functionally with Brand to build out email campaigns and automated email flows.
- Schedule virtual sell-in meetings with engaged prospective customers and close 90% of warm leads.
- Work collaboratively with the independent sales team on communication and workflow to create a united front and a high-value experience for existing and prospective customers.
- Become VSSL’s Closer by establishing best practices in sell-in presentations and leading the sales team in closing leads.
- Lead seasonal Go-To-Market execution for driving sales growth in Pro and Military 3 rd party digital channels.
- Automate workflow for deploying seasonal assets to all relevant B2B and B2C customers.
- Represent VSSL in the field at relevant trade and consumer events.

- Empathetic; you spend the time to understand your customer’s challenges and objectives so you can provide real solutions that benefit both the company and the customer.
- You value Brand and take the time to ensure that the Brand is flowing through at every customer touch point.
- Not easily satisfied; you are never happy with just “ok” and are continuously seeking ways to improve processes and tactics.
- Positive, professional, and h ighly collaborative; you work with a low ego approach amongst the team and understand there is no “I” in VSSL.
- Hyper-organized; you excel at prioritizing tasks while maintaining control and discipline across a broad area of responsibility.
- Coffee enthusiast; you appreciate and enjoy every aspect of Coffee.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in Outdoor or Coffee retail; buyer or sales rep/manager experience preferred.
- Highly experienced in managing workflows and customer pipelines in a CRM; HubSpot and Asana experience preferred.
- Highly experienced in B2B marketing to brick-and-mortar retailers: lead generation, setting up campaigns, and automated communication flows.
- Desire and ability to travel within North America 4-6 weeks per year.
