As a key member of the Billings team, you will be reporting to the Team Leader, Billings. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate preparation of invoices.Scope of Responsibilities:Coordinate all stages of the billing process including maintaining relationships with legal assistants to initiate billing, as well as address bill processing requestsReview and process bills to ensure all bills are recorded on a timely and accurate basisProcess invoices on e-billing platforms including, but not limited to, uploading rates, budgets and filesTroubleshoot and resolve e-billing issuesEnsure billings related issues are addressed promptlyEnsure compliance with firm approval policies and proceduresProcess and scan prebillsProcess time and cost transfersHelp legal assistants with billing enquiriesProvide back up in preparing a variety of reportsOther duties as assignedRequirements:University/college in accounting related field preferred3+ years previous experience performing in a similar role requiredExperience in professional services environment an assetAccounting software skill: Excel skills and knowledge of SQL is an assetGood understanding of basic accounting principles as they relate to billing, time and costs, and accounts receivablesThrive in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent client service with an aptitude to build and maintain client relationshipsAbility to meet tight deadlines, work well under pressure and prioritize workDiscretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essentialA team player who takes initiative and works well independentlyExcellent written & verbal communication skillsDemonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needsWe Offer:A comprehensive benefits package, including: health and dental benefits; vision care; employee assistance program; life insurance; short and long-term disability; extended mental health benefits; a fitness allowance; and RSP matching programCompetitive compensation and vacation packageContinuing professional development opportunitiesVarious social events and wellness activities throughout the yearBusiness casual dress codeA short walk from Union subway station and accessible from the pathGoodmans LLP is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects different abilities, backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, identities and perspectives.
