Location: GTA
Our client, a reputed Canadian manufacturing organization undergoing significant transformation is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Human Resources to provide HR leadership and support to their employees (both corporate and factory) throughout Canada and Latin America. This role is pivotal in driving the HR strategy and operations within their manufacturing facilities. You will develop strategies and deliver programs and capabilities to help enable the transformation and will gain exposure across all levels of a world-class organization. You will work closely with senior management to develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's mission and values. The ideal candidate must possess great communication skills, be a master collaborator, and lead with confidence and humility.
Key Accountabilities:
- Coach, lead and inspire a talented HR team through a period of transition.
- Translate the HR Strategic Plan into a set of operating plans with defined action steps, a realistic timeline, and clear goals.
- Provide consultation on organizational design and change management initiatives that position the organization for growth, improve operational effectiveness and maintain a high-performing, diverse, and engaged workforce.
- Ensure annual HR programs support culture and values and drive enhanced performance: Total rewards (including compensation, incentives, benefits), recognition, performance management, engagement, succession, and talent planning.
- Ensure relevant policies and practices reinforce culture and are compliant with all relevant employment legislation at the provincial and federal levels.
- Facilitate conflict resolution that promotes a positive work environment and is viewed as objective, confidential and professional.
- Ensure strong change and communication plans are developed to support successful adoption of change while engaging and inspiring the workforce.
- Lead the team to deliver with excellence all major annual and ad-hoc HR programs/initiatives.
- Provide HR guidance on all employee relations and terminations occurring and ensuring consistency of respect for the individual, performance management practice, documentation, and legislative requirements.
- Ensure program and process sustainability through the capture of standard operating procedures and ongoing development of the team.
- Lead team to effectively manage administration, communication, measurement of all HR Programs.
- Strengthen organizational capabilities by inspiring a team the HR team to challenge the status quo and drive to achieve a high performing organization through the attraction, retention, and development of team members.
- Provide consulting and coaching to employees as well as leaders within the business on people management topics.
Education and Experience:
- University Degree or equivalent; HR Diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of HR experience working with manufacturing, engineering, and/or distribution employees in a matrixed industrial environment.
- An outstanding communicator who inspires trust, confidence, and credibility in key internal and external stakeholders.
- A high degree of personal initiative, as well as outstanding listening, teamwork, interpersonal, and process facilitation skills.
- Outstanding leader with exceptional influencing skills and a team-oriented bias, who can mentor a high-performance team.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguous and complex issue and the flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Willingness and desire to challenge the status quo, take calculated risks and address difficult issues head on.
- Exceptional at change management, relationship building and collaboration with varied business lines, balancing the needs of various external and internal stakeholders.
