Role Summary

Department: QA/QC

Location: Edmonton Production Plant

Objective of Position

The QC Inspector is responsible for the identification, measurement and evaluation of quality and workmanship error data. They are expected to have excellent knowledge of internal quality specifications. Their detail orientation ensures that only quality products are released for shipment to our customers. Evaluation of their findings drives corrective actions to the manufacturing process.

Accountabilities

Reviews and verifies workmanship standards on every product produced.

· Perform routine inspections of incoming materials, components and finished products to ensure adherence to company quality standards

· Checking along production lines to ensure standards are adhering to product specifications during manufacture

· Determine the cause of a defect

· Perform various testing on random finished product samples

Teams up with others to ensure quality satisfaction.

· Report to the QC Team Lead

· Conduct root cause investigations and respond to Quality Engineering inquiries

· Guide the employees on any improvements and corrective actions that can be carried out for effective implementation of the system

· Educate line associates about quality standards, control measures and resolution processes

Ensures accurate record keeping and reporting of all issues and resolutions.

· Record and analyze defects, evaluate corrective and preventive actions

· Conduct audits and ensure procedures and processes needed to sustain quality objectives are established and implemented

· Maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

Builds skills and knowledge.

· Develops and achieves personal goals

· Ensure a thorough understanding of products, quality standards and issue resolution processes

· Proactively seeks knowledge on all products and services

Follows all other policies and procedures.

· Treat all associates and customers with the respect policy in mind

· Observe and ensure current knowledge and compliance all safety requirements throughout the building and at customer sites

Represents the organization.

· Exemplify the company's 5 core competencies

· Represent high moral standards while adhering to the company's management systems, code of business conduct and ethics, etc.

· Act when other Associates are acting in an unethical or unsafe manner

Education

· Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

Experience / Capabilities

· 3+ years of QC experience

· Ability to accurately use precision measuring equipment and interpret metric/imperial systems

· Capable of routinely pulling, tugging and lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Must be a self-starter, motivated and perform well in high-pressure environments

· Time-management and prioritizing skills

· Must be results focused, ethical and able to problem solve (i.e. analytical skills)

· Strong verbal and written English communication skills

· Critical and analytical thinking
